Current Mood: full
I went to London yesterday, and I miss it already! I went with my sister. We were on the road for a long time, but once we got there, we had such a great time! We left at 5.30 am, and arrived at about 11.30 am, London time. The long bus drive was not so bad, as we'd brought a lot of magazines, ipod, and food. We had gingerbread, candy, chocolate, nougat, donut balls, all very yummy. The driver dropped us off at Hyde park, which was only a short walk to Oxford street. We've been *very* lucky with the weather. It was sunny and warm, but not sweltering. Starting today, it will be raining for a couple of days in London, so I was happy the trip was a day earlier than planned. I had brought a lot of money, 110 pounds, which, for me, is a lot. XD I always find it such a shame when you see something nice, and you don't have the money to buy it, well, at least in a different country, coz you don't come back there for at least a year. I myself didn't buy so much. I bought a cute litte vest, black, with lace on the edges.
After that we had lunch at Starbucks. We both had a wrap and a smoothie called, interestingly, Naked. After that, we continued our way through Oxford street. I also found a little supermarket at Charingcross Road (or something), where I bought some local food, like crisps with flavors we don't have in belgium, and cookies. I think that's all I bought. My sister bought two books she was looking for, and new shoes, red converse shoes with grapes on them, and she thought they were just *perfect* for her, and I'm happy I could buy them for her. Oh, and we also bought some souvenirs for our parents, of course. ^_ ^
After Oxford street and Charingcross road, we continued our search for Covent Garden. Asked for directions in a store where they had the most lovely figurine of Cloud from FF in the window. Would've loved to have snooped around in that store for a bit, coz obviously, they had manga and anime, but I couldn't because of a lack of time. I hope I can do that the next time though. So, after a few more shopping streets, we *finally* found Covent Garden! I was so happy! There was such a nice atmosphere there, with a lot of lovely stalls and stores! We didn't get to check all of it out, coz of the lack of time again, but we did buy two large muffins for our parents. When we left there, it was already around 3.30, and we had to be back at Hyde park at 5, and Oxford street is a *long* street! We still stoped at Eat, which can be compared with Foodmaker here in Belgium, to buy food we could eat on the bus on the way back, and then we rushed back through Oxford Street towards Hyde park, but stopped on the way at a Starbucks again for iced coffee with whipped cream. Really good!
We arrived back at Hyde park around 4, and, tired from all the running around, we sat in the grass for a while. It was really nice to sit there, especially since it was so sunny. My sister put on her new shoes, and took picture of them with her cell phone. She's a real Converse freak. She still wanted to check out the Hardrock Café, but we doubted there would've still been enough time left. It didn't look so far on the map, but then again, neither did Covent Garden, and it was pretty far on foot, after all.
At 4.45 we got off our asses and started to look for the bus. We met up with some other people who were also on our bus, and waited together. The bus was right on time, and at 5, we left again for a loooong drive back home :'(
Except for a few delays, we've had a very fun and satisfying day, and we hope to come back as soon as we can! |
